Introduction

In the heart of Davao City, countless children go to sleep with empty stomachs. At ANC Davao, we believe this is not just a social issue — it’s a spiritual call to action. Inspired by Christ’s compassion and the Church’s mission to serve “the least of these,” we have made it our mission to fight hunger one meal, one child, and one act of love at a time.

Feeding the Body, Nourishing the Soul

What began as a small feeding program in a barangay chapel has grown into a vital ministry of hope and sustenance. Every week, hundreds of children receive hot meals lovingly prepared by volunteers—many of them parents and parishioners. But this is more than food distribution; it’s a chance to build trust, listen to stories, share laughter, and pray together.

We serve not just rice and stew, but also dignity, joy, and faith. Before every meal, we gather the children in prayer, teaching them to thank God and recognize His presence even in humble servings. For some, it is the first time they’ve prayed aloud. For others, it’s a reminder that they are seen and loved.

Community-Led, Christ-Centered

This mission thrives because of our community: donors who give sacrificially, volunteers who cook under the heat of the sun, and youth who show up early just to set the tables. Local farmers donate vegetables. Small business owners sponsor snacks. Priests offer blessings and presence. Together, we reflect the Body of Christ — many parts, one purpose.

More Than Just a Meal

The feeding program also opens doors to greater care. Children are connected to health screenings, educational support, and pastoral counseling. Through consistent presence, we also reach their families — inviting them to be part of the ANC community, attend catechism sessions, and engage in livelihood programs. As we nourish bodies, we plant seeds of transformation in entire households.
