In a modest covered court in Barangay 23-C, Davao City, a line of children gathers early in the morning — not for class, but for something just as essential: a warm, nutritious meal.

This is a typical day for the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center (ANC), a project of ACLAIM of The Roman Catholic Bishop of Davao, Inc.. What began as a humble feeding initiative years ago has grown into a city-wide mission serving thousands of undernourished children and families.

Feeding Beyond Hunger

The ANC Feeding Program doesn’t just provide food — it restores dignity and uplifts hope. Each meal is prepared with care by volunteers and partners who wake before dawn to cook rice, vegetables, and protein-rich dishes. Local farmers and donors supply the ingredients. Smiles and laughter fill the area as the children receive not just meals, but encouragement, prayer, and attention.

“Every child we feed is a future we help shape,” says Msgr. Paul Cuison, one of ANC’s board members.

An Integrated Approach

While feeding is the heart of the center, it is just one part of a broader commitment to holistic development. ANC also provides:

• Scholarship support for deserving youth
• Health check-ups and hygiene education
• Spiritual formation and values education through catechism
• Crisis response for families affected by illness or poverty
